P17 - BYOD: Building Easy and Effective Augmented Reality in Your Training
Augmented reality is an amazing new technology for consumers and learning developers. Our ability to access AR from our mobile device makes the barrier of entry to use—and develop for AR—low. However, it can be overwhelming for developers to know where to start. Understanding when to use AR, how to design quality AR experiences, and generating organizational buy-in are difficult hurdles to adoption.
In this workshop we will take a deep dive into integrating augmented reality into your training and development process. We will discuss strategies to adoption including organizational buy-in and where to get started in your existing workflow. You will be hands-on exploring user-friendly software and resources to begin developing AR experiences for sharing and create a portfolio of AR experiences with a variety of software that can be used in your L&D projects. These projects will include creating digital overlays, incorporating immersive 360 elements, adding 3D models, and developing interaction. You will be able to take this portfolio and other provided examples to kickstart ideas and projects for your organization. This workshop is designed for all experience levels, providing everyone the opportunity to learn about, experience, design, and develop immersive AR.
In this session, you will learn:
